Märklin TM800

Here is a little story about the conversion from traditional AC to full digital
with
original sound of an 55 years old Märklin locomotive. The loco was running
fine before, but there was a big interest to see how it runs after the
conversion.

Underneath the body the old reverse unit, not very easy to adjust.

Autsch! This needs to be cleaned and some of the gears should be replaced.
After the cleaning
A part of the former reverse unit mounting frame was cut out to provide space
for the digital decoder and the speaker.
Here will be the room for a 23mm
speaker.

Motor installed in the engine. The permanent magnet is huge.

The loco runs great, the sound is original from a BR 80.
